Blaine Conrad is a licensed clinical social worker (LISW). Blaine received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Iowa State University with specialized courses in anthropology and biology. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa where she specialized in clinical social work with emphasis in trauma and play therapy.
Blaine loves working with people of all ages and walks of life. She started her career working in an early childhood education setting which spurred her love for working with children. She moved on to work with at risk teens at a residential facility, where she learned more about crisis interventions. Most recently, Blaine worked as a mental health therapist at a local non-profit center for children. Blaine's position was based in a local urban school. This opportunity gave Blaine the experience to collaborate and work with both schools and families. In addition, Blaine has always valued learning and has taken the time to learn more from experts in the field about how to work with trauma and children. This learning journey has resulted in Blaine being certified in multiple therapy modalities including Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). Blaine is currently working on becoming an EMDRIA consultant for EMDR. She has a true love for using EMDR with client to heal trauma. Blaine also does enjoys using lots of other therapy techniques as well including but not limited to: Sand Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). All these different therapy modalities help Blaine to work specifically with individuals who have experienced trauma and/or adverse life experiences.
